Haier Pushes Into India’s Mid-Range Market With HQLED P7 Pro Series
Haier expands its Indian portfolio with the HQLED P7 Pro smart TV series, featuring Gemini-powered Google TV, 50W audio, and a range of sizes from 43 to 75 inches.

Bridging the Gap Between Budget and Premium
Haier is making a concerted push into the competitive Indian home entertainment sector with the official rollout of its HQLED P7 Pro series. This latest lineup is designed to capture the “prosumer” middle ground—offering high-end visual specifications and AI-driven software without the price premium typically associated with flagship OLED panels.
The P7 Pro series isn’t just a single product but a comprehensive range, spanning five distinct sizes: 43-inch, 50-inch, 55-inch, 65-inch, and 75-inch. This breadth suggests Haier is aiming to dominate everything from small bedroom setups to full-scale living room home cinemas. Pricing starts at Rs. 35,990 for the entry-level 43-inch model, scaling up to Rs. 90,990 for the massive 75-inch variant, positioning it directly against competitors like Xiaomi and TCL.
The Hardware Play: Audio and Visuals
The centerpiece of the series is Haier’s proprietary HQLED display technology. While standard LED screens often struggle with color accuracy and vibrancy, Haier claims the P7 Pro achieves up to 93 percent of the DCI-P3 color gamut. This is a critical metric for users who want a cinematic experience closer to industry standards.
Interestingly, Haier has tiered its visual capabilities. While the entire range is high-definition, the 55-inch and larger models receive the “premium” treatment with support for both Dolby Vision and HDR10+. This distinction is important for buyers; if you are looking for the most advanced dynamic range and contrast, the 55-inch model acts as the functional baseline for the series’ top-tier features.
On the audio front, the P7 Pro attempts to solve the common “thin sound” problem found in slim-profile TVs. The series is equipped with a 50W 2.1-channel speaker system, featuring an integrated subwoofer. By pairing this with Dolby Atmos and “Total Sonics” technology, Haier is betting that users will forego a separate soundbar in favor of a more robust built-in solution.
Gemini Integration and the Google TV Ecosystem
Beyond the hardware, the P7 Pro is a software-forward device. Running on Google TV, the interface is familiar, but the integration of Google’s Gemini AI for hands-free voice control marks a shift toward more conversational and intuitive navigation. Instead of rigid voice commands, the inclusion of Gemini suggests a more fluid way to search for content and manage smart home devices directly from the remote or voice-activation.
Under the hood, the TVs carry 2GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage. While these specs are modest compared to a tablet or PC, they are standard for the Google TV ecosystem, providing enough headroom for a healthy library of streaming apps and smooth UI transitions.
Market Positioning and Consumer Protection
Haier is entering this fray with a strong confidence signal: a three-year warranty. In a market where the standard is often one or two years, an extended warranty on a budget-to-mid-range series is a tactical move to build brand trust against established giants like Samsung or LG.
To address the growing concern over digital eye strain, the P7 Pro also carries TÜV Rheinland certification for Low Blue Light technology. This is a welcome addition for the “binge-watching” demographic, ensuring that long sessions of content consumption are less taxing on the eyes.
The series is now rolling out across major retail channels in India, signaling Haier’s intent to move beyond e-commerce and establish a physical footprint in the consumer’s living room.
