Scaling Down for the Living Room

Following the April debut of its 65-inch flagship displays, Lumio is diversifying its footprint in the Indian market. The company has officially announced the 55-inch variants of both the Vision 9 (2026) and Vision 7 (2026) smart TVs, aiming to capture a segment of the audience that finds the massive 65-inch panels impractical for standard Indian apartment layouts.

The move is a tactical shift toward the mid-range market, where the 55-inch form factor has become the gold standard for balanced viewing distance and cost. While the screen real estate is reduced, Lumio is maintaining the internal hardware specifications across both the 55-inch and 65-inch models, ensuring that users opting for the smaller size aren’t sacrificing processing power or smart features.

    Pricing and Market Position

The pricing strategy for the new variants is designed to undercut the existing 65-inch models while remaining aggressive against competitors like Xiaomi and Samsung. The Lumio Vision 9 (2026), which utilizes QD-Mini LED technology to achieve higher peak brightness and deeper blacks, carries a standard MSRP of Rs. 51,999. However, to stimulate early adoption, Lumio has introduced a launch price of Rs. 44,999.

The Vision 7 (2026) serves as the entry-point into the new ecosystem. Positioned as a more accessible alternative, it is priced at Rs. 39,999, with a special introductory offer bringing it down to Rs. 34,999. This puts the Vision 7 in direct competition with several high-volume 4K LED sets currently dominating the sub-40k price bracket in India.

    Technical Consistency Across Sizes

One of the critical points for consumers is whether the smaller panels compromise on the image quality touted in the initial launch. According to Lumio, the 55-inch Vision 9 retains its QD-Mini LED architecture. This technology combines the color purity of Quantum Dots with the precise backlight control of Mini LEDs, which typically prevents the “blooming” effect seen in traditional edge-lit displays.

The Vision 7, while lacking the Mini LED density of the 9 series, continues to offer the same smart interface and connectivity options found in its larger sibling. Both models are expected to support the latest iterations of the company’s proprietary OS, emphasizing seamless integration with popular streaming services and smart home ecosystems.

    Availability and Distribution

Lumio is bypassing traditional brick-and-mortar exclusivity, opting instead for a digital-first distribution strategy. The 55-inch variants of both the Vision 9 and Vision 7 are scheduled to go on sale starting June 4. The rollout will be handled via India’s two largest e-commerce platforms, Amazon and Flipkart, allowing the company to leverage existing logistics networks for nationwide delivery.

As the Indian TV market continues to shift toward higher-specification panels—moving from standard LED to QLED and Mini LED—Lumio’s decision to offer multiple sizes of its 2026 range suggests a confidence in the scalability of their display tech. By lowering the barrier to entry via the 55-inch models, the brand is attempting to build a larger user base before the next generation of panels arrives.
