It bundles the new DJI Mic 3 Transmitter—essential for cutting out wind noise and ambient chaos—alongside a fill light for night shoots, a wide-angle lens attachment for tighter spaces, and the Osmo Mini tripod for static shots. By integrating the Mic 3 directly into the ecosystem, DJI is attempting to close the loop on audio-visual production within a device that fits in a jacket pocket.
The competitive landscape
The Pocket 4 arrives at a time when smartphone manufacturers are pushing computational videography to its limits. However, the physics of a mechanical gimbal still outperform electronic image stabilization (EIS) in terms of organic motion.
