While the company has spent the last few weeks teasing the device’s aesthetics and camera modules, the benchmarking data provides the first real look at the hardware driving the experience.
The listing identifies the handset as the Edge 70 Pro+, powered by a MediaTek SoC with the identifier MT6899. While Motorola hasn’t officially named the chip, industry trackers and internal identifiers link the MT6899 to the MediaTek Dimensity 8500. This suggests Motorola is leaning into a high-performance, sub-flagship silicon strategy, likely to keep the device competitive against rivals like the Oppo Reno 16, which is also expected to utilize this specific chipset.
The architecture revealed in the leak follows a modern octa-core configuration: four efficiency cores clocked at 2.20GHz, three performance cores hitting 3.20GHz, and a single prime core peaking at 3.40GHz.
