    Haier is intensifying its competition in the crowded Indian smart TV market with the official rollout of the HQLED P7 Pro series. Rather than competing solely on price, the new lineup attempts to bridge the gap between budget LED sets and high-end OLEDs by leveraging a proprietary HQLED panel and a heavy integration of Google’s latest AI ecosystem.

    The P7 Pro series arrives in five distinct sizes—43, 50, 55, 65, and 75 inches—positioning it to fit everything from compact bedrooms to expansive living areas. The most notable hardware shift is the audio configuration. While most mid-range TVs rely on basic stereo pairs, Haier has equipped the P7 Pro with a 50W 2.1-channel system. The inclusion of an integrated subwoofer is a strategic move to reduce the immediate need for an external soundbar, a common pain point for consumers in this price bracket.

    The Gemini Integration: Beyond Basic Voice Control

    Software-wise, the P7 Pro is built on Google TV, but the standout feature is the integration of Gemini. While most smart TVs offer basic voice commands via Google Assistant, the implementation of Gemini suggests a move toward more natural, conversational interaction and better content discovery. This hands-free voice control is designed to make navigating the sprawling library of streaming apps more intuitive, though real-world performance will depend on the efficiency of the 2GB RAM and 32GB internal storage configuration.

    Panel Performance and Color Accuracy

    The core of the series is Haier’s in-house HQLED technology. According to company specifications, these panels can achieve up to 93 percent of the DCI-P3 color gamut, which is a significant step up from standard LED TVs. This ensures more vibrant and accurate color reproduction, particularly in high-contrast scenes.

    However, there is a tiered approach to the visual experience. While the entire range benefits from HQLED, only the larger models (55-inch and above) support Dolby Vision and HDR10+. This creates a clear distinction in the lineup: the smaller models are aimed at general consumption, while the larger screens are targeted at home cinema enthusiasts who prioritize high-dynamic-range content.

    To address the growing concern over screen time and ocular health, Haier has secured TÜV Rheinland certification for its Low Blue Light technology. This certification is becoming a standard requirement for manufacturers looking to appeal to health-conscious buyers and families with children.

    Market Positioning and Pricing

    Haier is positioning the P7 Pro as a value-driven yet premium alternative. The pricing starts at ₹35,990 for the 43-inch variant, moving up to ₹43,490 for the 50-inch model. The 55-inch, 65-inch, and 75-inch versions are priced at ₹49,990, ₹67,990, and ₹90,990, respectively.

    In an effort to build long-term trust in the Indian market—where after-sales service is often a deciding factor for consumers—Haier is offering a three-year warranty on these models. This extended coverage is a direct challenge to competitors who typically offer a standard one-year warranty with optional paid extensions.
