While these listings are typically dry, the confirmation of 80W wired fast charging points to a device meant to be tethered to a power source during intense sessions, though RedMagic is likely to implement a bypass charging mode to reduce battery degradation and thermal buildup.
Thermal engineering vs. Battery life
The most significant revelation in the recent leak is the internal cooling architecture. Moving beyond the standard vapor chambers found in the RedMagic gaming phones, the Astra 2 is reportedly utilizing an active liquid cooling circulation system. This is a bold engineering choice for a tablet, effectively creating a miniature radiator system to prevent the SoC from throttling during long-term high-load gameplay.
